Tony Wilcox, the quiet keyboard player for Ivory Tower, has always believed he was straight. A sexual encounter with his best friend leaves Tony questioning his heart and the unwavering attraction he has for Jared. Living and working together is no longer enough for Tony... he wants more. He wants Jared as his.
Jared Baker, the bass player for the band, has a past that is getting in the way of him fully embracing what he wants... Tony. He's tried everything to create distance between them, but none of it eliminated the feelings he has developed for Tony.
Trying to suppress the anger and confusion from Jared withdrawing from his life, Tony does his best to get beyond the feelings he has for his friend. When Jared becomes deathly ill, it's Tony that he calls for help and Tony has to decide if he can heal Jared without giving away too much of his heart.
Can best friends find their way to true love and discover if they were meant for each other, or will the challenges of life force them to choose separate paths?

Excerpt:
Jared continued to gently rock his hips against Tony to ease them through the aftershocks, then leaned in to offer Tony a soft, lingering kiss. When Jared's eyes opened, Tony was staring up at him. The intensity of that gaze took Jared's breath away and he rose up to his elbows again.
“You okay?” Jared asked with tenderness.
“Isn't this where you freak-out and leave?” Tony asked.
Jared's eyebrows bunched together. “I told you, T, I'm not leaving,” Jared replied. “Being with you like this only makes me want more, so much more.”
Tony pushed his fingers through Jared's hair and tucked a piece behind his ear. “There's no girl here between us to act as a buffer, and no other logical way you can pretend this didn't happen. Can you blame me for thinking you might bolt once the buzz of this wears off?”
“I know my track record with you isn't the greatest, but things are different now—I'm different,” Jared proclaimed.
“How so?” Tony questioned.
Jared ran the back of his fingers across Tony's cheek. “I guess you could say, I finally found the balls to admit to myself what it is I'm feeling,” Jared said. “More importantly, I found the backbone to come here and tell you.”
Tony shook his head. “I'm sorry if I'm being skeptical about this, but you've either run or pushed me away at very pivotal moments. At this point, I'm finding it difficult to understand where you're coming from, and what's really going on inside your head.”
Jared dropped down to Tony's chest and his face rolled into the bend of Tony's shoulder. It took a few seconds, but Tony's arms finally wrapped around Jared's back and
Jared nuzzled in closer. God, he loved the warmth of Tony's embrace. It offered so much more than comfort. It felt safe.
“I'm so sorry for putting you through that, and if there was a way I could take it back I would,” Jared said with his lips against Tony's neck. “Truth is, I had trouble...accepting things.”
“Do you think it was easy for me?” Tony asked. “Jesus! How do you come to terms with wanting your best friend like this? There's no easy way to accept something like that. You either go with what you're feeling, or walk away, and that's what you seemed hell bent on doing.”
“I'm here now, T, and that has to count for something,” Jared whispered.
Tony shifted beneath Jared and they both felt the come cooling on their skin. Jared eased off to Tony's side and rolled from the bed. He walked into the bathroom and returned with a towel to clean them both. When he reached the bed, Tony was already using tissues from the nightstand to wipe the mess off his stomach. Jared climbed back onto the bed and finished cleaning Tony with the towel, then tossed the towel onto the floor and stretched out on his side facing Tony. He slid his leg over Tony's thigh again, dropped his head to Tony's shoulder, and ran his fingers over Tony's chest and stomach. He loved the way Tony's soft dusting of hair tickled the pads of his fingers.
“I don't know how I can prove it to you, T, but I will. And, I'll keep on proving it to you every fucking day you'll let me,” Jared's voice was soft, but he knew Tony was hearing every word loud and clear. “I'm not running, and I was serious about wanting more.”

Exclusive Interview with Ivory Tower

I'd like to welcome the members of Ivory Tower to the page.  Gentlemen, it's a pleasure to have you here!
Alex:  "Thank you very much, Jill."
Wheland:  "It's nice to be here."
Cooper groans as if in distress and Alex slaps him on the back of the head.
Alex:  "Knock that shit off, little man.  I don't give a crap how badly you want to see Jayson right now.  We're doing this interview before you go anywhere."
Tony:  "Jesus, Coop.  Do you and Jayson ever quit?"
Jared cocked his head slightly and looked at Tony from beneath his lashes.  "I don't see a problem with Cooper wanting his man.  Do you?"
Alex:  "Not the fucking point, boys.  We're here to discuss Ivory Tower business.  Not Cooper's sex life."

You've just finished a nation-wide tour with Black Ice, are you all looking forward to some down time?
        Jared:  "Hell, yes!
Tony:  "I think we all need to decompress in a big way."
Cooper:  "And space.  We seriously need space.  I want to wake up and see someone else's face besides these dicks."
        Wheland:  "Oh, that hurts!"
Alex:  "Cooper has a valid point."
Alex, you're about to become a father, how's that feel?
Alex:  "That is true.  My wife, Danni is a couple of months from having our first child.  Between me and my   husband, Chase doting on her like fools, we're probably driving her bat-shit crazy.  But it's all good.  Happiest time in my entire life."
Wheland and Cooper, you are both in committed relationships as well, is that right?
Cooper:  "Truth.  I'm engaged to my partner, Jayson.  No wedding date yet.  We want to take some time to plan this celebration right and being on the road for nine months hasn't offered us a lot of free time to plan anything."
Wheland:  "Rooster and I are committed in every sense of the

word, but neither of us feels that has
to include a wedding ceremony.  I'm not opposed to marrying him though, and maybe one day we will, but right
now we're just enjoying being together."
So that leaves Tony and Jared, the rumor mill says the two of you like to share everything *wink, wink*, apartments, girls.....is that true?
Jared:  "Wow, she gets right to the point, doesn't she, T.?"
Tony:  "We've shared living space before, so that's not new.  What's new is we bought our first place together."
Jared:  "It's a sweet beach house right on Malibu.  We love it there."
Cooper:  "That's not all that's new, dick head.  Tell her the rest of it."

I'm sensing some tension, is there more going on than friendship between you?
Jared:  "Cooper is doing his best to out us.  So, yeah.  There is one other thing that is new.....we also share a bed now.  It made sense, and it saves room, too."
Cooper:  "Saves room?  Why, because you sleep on top of him now?"
Tony:  "Both of you need to shut the hell up."
Cooper:  "Looks like you're in trouble."

Sorry, I didn't mean to hit a nerve, but a groupie reported that you two share a bunk on the bus, that's a little intimate for only friends.
Jared:  "That's another way to save space?"
Cooper:  "Seriously, dude?  I don't think she fell for that the second time around."
Tony:  "Jesus!  Will you to quit it?  She doesn't need to know everything."
Jared:  "Just the good stuff, T.  And, that is most definitely the good stuff."
Okay, I'll move on.  So what's next for Ivory Tower?
Alex:  "For the immediate future, we're on break, so I can become a father.  After that, we'll start recording, and probably head back out on tour again early next year."
Any comment on the rumor that Dante and Ashton of Black Ice have been fighting and causing problems within the group?
All the guys grumble incoherently amongst themselves and then Alex speaks up.
Alex:  "Yeah, Dante and Ashton are dealing.....with some stuff right now, and we're in the process of helping them see the light."
Wheland:  "Is that how you want to word it?"
Alex:  "That's all I'm saying about that mess, except we all hope they can come to terms with what is likely at the root of their situation.  At this point, all we can do is wait and see how it turns out."
Would you go back out on tour with Black Ice again?
Alex:  "I believe I speak for everyone when I say, definitely.  The guys in Black Ice are great friends and very talented.  We'd be honored to share a stage with them again."
Wheland:  "Agreed.  We're rooting for them to pull their shit together again."
        Jared:  "Brothers by choice."
        Tony:  "That's our mantra."
Cooper:  "We always have each others back, no matter what."

Well that's all the time we have. I want to thank you for being with us and I speak for all my readers is saying we can't wait to see more of you all again.
Alex:  "Thank you for sitting with us."
        Wheland:  "Much appreciated."
Tony:  "Can you leave out the shit Jared said about us sharing a bed.  I don't think anyone needs to know about that."
Jared:  "Are you embarrassed to admit we sleep together?"
Cooper:  "Dad, can I be excused to go see Jay now?"

In unison the guys all shout:  "Cooper!  Shut the fuck up!"

REVIEW:

Can I say I love this series enough?  No I don't think I can. Following the guys from Ivory Tower and Black Ice is a favorite past time of mine!  Jared and Tony are the final two Ivory Tower members we see get together and it is both heartbreaking in the beginning and uplifting at the end.

We find out more about Jared's past and why he hesitates taking his relationship with Tony to the next level. Poor Tony puts his heart out there only to have Jared kick him to the curb at first. But Jared quickly sees the error of his way and works hard to convince Tony that he's stopped running and is willing to give them a chance.

As always with Ann's books, the sex is steamy!  And I love that she winds the other characters into the book so we know what's going on in each of their lives!

I can't wait for the next book and hope that even though it will be about Black Ice members, we can revisit the Ivory Tower guys!
