synopsis
Book 1 - The Opposites
In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. When the dust settled and the water receded Dr. Anthony Smith, one of only a few hundred survivors of GWI, started society anew. Having come to the conclusion that injudicious breeding played a huge role in the destruction of Earth as we knew it in the twenty first century, he worked closely with other survivors to isolate the Dionysus gene. This gene has the ability to manipulate human DNA to ensure that all male children be born gay, and all female children be born lesbians. A new society is born.
In the year 2300 Dr. Smith’s descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins Aiya and Aiyan are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems.
Love is Love.. it knows no gender and doesn’t conform to restrictions and boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests the boundaries put in place after GWI, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites.
*WARNING* Opposites is a majorly M/M New Adult novel that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, lesbian and straight couples
Book 2 (Novella) – The Library
The Library, an Opposites Novella, by TM Smith
Three gay couples run amuck in this short story where clothing, beds, even four walls are all optional!
Want to know what happened that night in the library?
Cirian and Rian had a fight in the library and Rian ends up naked on the desk, on his back, at Cirian's mercy.
Want to know how far things went with ice cream?
A romantic evening by the fire feeding his husband ice cream leads to a lot more than heavy petting for Aiyan and Kaden.
Want to know what was going on when those birds fled?
Travelling hundreds of miles, battling the rebels and then travelling back to House Gaeland will take it out of you. But when Tanis wants something, he takes it. Raven is about to be bent over a tree!
A Note from the Author:
I've taken three scenes from Opposites that were cut short and elaborated on the shenanigans that ensued. I also focused more in the beginning on the relationship between Cirian and Rian, to give readers a chance to know them and their inner workings better.
**Warning, The Library is a novella set in the same world as Opposites. It's an adult dystopian M/M novella that includes consenting and explicit sexual relationships between gay couples**

Excerpts for Opposites {warning, Opposites is an Adult Dystopian majorly M/M series, this sneak peak may contain content not suitable for those under the age of 18, viewer discretion is advised}
Meanwhile in the forest, Aiyan stood in the shadow of the tree. His bow was cocked and ready as the deer trotted into view close to the stream. Kaden stood to his left directly behind the tree, watching the intensity in his features as he stalked his prey. His jaw was set and his brown eyes sparkled, the muscles in his arm were tensed and solid as he held his bow in place, taking aim at the deer. His mouth was just slightly upturned on one side forming that devilish, crooked grin Kaden had come to love more than anything.
Kaden thought back to the first time they kissed and that first night alone with Aiyan in his room, his body held firmly between Aiyan’s and the wall as he ran his hands down Kaden’s body and nipped at his ear. Instinctively he reached out and ran his thumb along Aiyan’s jaw line just as he released the arrow. The sound of metal hitting flesh as the arrow penetrated the deer’s soft skin could just be heard, and then the unmistakable thud as the now lifeless animal hit the ground.
Aiyan stepped to the side and pinned Kaden against the tree, cupping his crotch in his hand tightly and crashing their mouths together. Again, instinctively, Kaden moved into his touch and his lips, moaning softly. Aiyan smiled into the kiss and whispered, "Kaden, love, you’re killing me."
Kaden pulled back and laughed. "Me?!" I think you need to look again my prince, I’m the one pinned to this tree while you…." he moaned again and
closed his eyes, leaning back into the tree as Aiyan squeezed gently. He leaned in and kissed his neck then sucked at the sensitive flesh there.
"Soon, M’anam. The Mehndi ceremony is tomorrow, and then the wedding, and then…" He let the sentence linger in the air as he ran his nose across Kaden’s cheek, bringing their lips together for another kiss. They settled into a more appropriate, affectionate stance just before Rian cleared his throat from behind them. Kaden flushed slightly and Aiyan turned to see his father smiling at them. He jerked his head back toward the palace motioning for them to follow, and they did, reluctantly.

Review:
Our world is different seventy years from now. The world is at peace now that all most all relationships are homosexual. But there are a few that are drawn to the opposite sex still. These people are exiled from normal society.

Aiyan and his twin sister Aiya are set meet the mates that have been chosen for them. They will rule when their time comes just like their parents. When they meet their mates Aiyan is taken with his mate Kaden. They are instantly drawn to each other. Aiya is no so lucky. She is more drawn to Kaden's adopted brother than her mate Maeve.  Both weddings are performed and while Aiyan is happy in his, Aiya and Maeve pretend for the sake of the their parents.

When the parents find out what is going on all bets are off. Can love conquer in the end?  I really enjoyed this book. Beware though, all types of sex is present here: m/m, f/f & m/f. But then love is love right?

Music is a huge part of my writing process, and there are songs that take me where I need to be to write... and then there are songs specific to certain characters or chapters in the book. Early on there is a scene when Maeve, Tanis and Kaden are en route to the palace and Maeve is taking in her surroundings.
Every time I hear Celtic Dream I think about this particular chapter. Very whimsical, fresh and new. Both Aiyan and Raven play the violin, and Aiya plays the piano, so there is a lot of instrumental music I listen to when I’m writing around them. Rain on the Pond is a song that is mentioned twice in the book,
Lament has its own chapter, and Sirtaki is the dance they do at Aiya and Maeve’s wedding. Every song on this playlist is directly related to something in the book, in some fashion.

I was falling, emotions first, in The Raven’s trap. And I didn’t try to stop myself.
Raven was undoing me piece by piece, knitting me tighter into his trap.
The Raven was shaping and fastening me into a hot mess. His hot mess.

Excerpt:
I stepped out of the director’s office and entered the main area. Standing in all his six foot two glory was the star quarterback of our universities’ football team. I had never seen him in person, and I felt like a midget looking up at him.  Even though I didn’t know him personally, I’d heard and read enough about him to know he was a womanizer and had a drug problem.
Another reason why I shouldn’t help him.
“Hi, I’m Lexi Thompson and I’ve been asked to consult with you.” I made it clear that it wasn’t my choice to help him.
“Lexi. Hmm, I like that name.”
Uh, no you don’t.
His full lips spread, revealing the most charming smile, coupled with a deep dimple on the right. Now I knew why every girl fell for him.  But I was smarter than that. “I’m Raven.” He stalled for a moment, his eyes giving me a thorough exam to the point that I bet he knew what color my panties were. “Raven Davenport.” He ran a hand over his short buzz cut, and he looked like the perfect model for an Abercrombie and Fitch ad. Minus his T-shirt.
He was toxic and smelled of sex and drugs. Well, not that I knew what all that smelled like, but his aura beamed bright red warning me to be careful.
“Are you ready to get started? Because we only have an hour.” I held out my hand, motioning to a small table in the corner.
“That’s plenty of time.” He raised his brows.
I rolled my eyes and walked to the table. Taking a seat, I took out the agreement that Dr. Philips prepared. I signed my name, and moved the papers in front of him. “Please sign this.”
Raven leaned over the table. “I was thinking you might want to do this somewhere private.” A seductive grin spread across his lips as he pressed his weight against it, as if testing the durability of the wood.
My jaw dropped. Was he serious? My fiancé didn’t even tease me that way. Although that would’ve been nice. Then again, we hadn’t even made out on a bed much less on a table. I had to restrain myself from slapping him.
“Excuse me, Mr. Davenport?”
He pulled out a chair and sat down. “You can call me Raven.”  I guess by the tone in my voice he knew I meant business.
“Please read the agreement, and let me know if you have any questions. I indicated we would meet twice a week for an hour and more if a mutual agreement can be established.”
“Okay. Sounds fair. Do you have a pen?” He held out his hand. His long fingers curled up in a perfect cup. A hand that was made for a football and caressing various female parts.
Whoa! Where did that come from?
Extending my hand, I gave him my pen. He eased it from my fingertips in a gentle motion. “Thank you, Lexi.”
He signed the paper and handed it back to me.
“Aren’t you going to read it?”
Shaking his head, he said, “No, I trust you.”
“But you don’t even know me.”
“Not yet.” His green eyes sparkled. “But my gut tells me we’re going to get to know each other real well.”
It was obvious why Lisa didn’t want to work with him. I made a mental note to call her the second he left. I sucked in a quick breath and let it out to clear my head. “Whatever.” With haste I removed my Hodge’s Harbrace Handbook and another pen from my backpack. I opened the folder Dr. Philips gave me and took out his papers.
“I reviewed your file and—”
“You and everybody else.” His head lowered and his shoulders sunk.
I continued, unsure of how to handle the comment. “I have an idea of where you need the most help with your writing.”
His head popped up and a layer of relief removed the downward slope of his lips. “You do?”
“Yes. I think we should start with some grammar basics.” I opened the book to the first chapter and moved it between us. I placed one of his papers below the book, prepared to show him examples so he could relate easily to the concepts. “I’ll give you a quick and dirty overview of the parts of speech to start off.”
He moved his chair closer to me, and a fresh sent of juniper and bergamot swept over me. The guy smelled like a cologne insert from one of my magazines, and I tried hard not to breathe it in. But the more I tried not to, the more I loved the smell.
Darn, I wish Collin smelled that good.
He flashed me a grin. “I like it quick and dirty.”
I wanted to slap myself. Could I have used a poorer word choice? “I’m sure you do Raven. I mean, you’re a guy and a football player.”
“True,” a half smile formed, “but not every guy likes to do things quickly or get messy doing them.”
A rush of heat inundated me. I yanked a hair band off my wrist and pulled my hair up in a messy bun. I raised the sleeves on my shirt and braced myself.
I’ll be damned if I let this jerk get to me.
Ignoring his comment, I pressed forward with my instruction. Raven listened intently and nodded his head while asking related questions. When the guy wasn’t being a big flirt, he was actually pleasant to be around.  I felt sorry for him because he had gone through school without learning grammar rules. Then again, most people never make it a point to learn them and base everything on how people talk. No wonder the guy couldn’t write a proper sentence. The weird thing was his verbal skills seemed fine, but his written skills, well, that was another story.
Helping him might not be so bad after all.
After forty minutes of reviewing grammar syntax, he began to lose interest. He shifted his weight and yawned a few times, stretching his arms that nearly wrapped around me. I scooted to the edge of my chair, praying he wouldn’t rest his elbow behind me. Before he lowered his arms, his phone buzzed. His eyes widened with delight as he looked at the screen.
“Excuse me, I need to take this call.”
“Um, no, you can’t.” I pointed to a sign on the wall. “Policy says—,”
“Hey baby, what’s up?” He answered the phone, ignoring me and the rule of no talking on the phone in the writing center.
He rambled about his schedule and practice for a minute or so before shifting gears. I contemplated if I should get up and tell Dr. Phillips. That would mean instant removal from the writing center and I wouldn’t have to help him. Then again it probably wouldn’t matter because the coach had called in a favor. I started to stand but stopped when the lure of his voice made it too hard to resist listening to his conversation. His smitten words rolled off his tongue and he sounded like Eros himself. Warmth rose from my belly, and I turned around to see who else was in the center. Luckily, Sara had already left and Kyler was talking to a student and not paying much attention.
Raven was having phone sex with the girl he was talking to!
Visuals flashed through my mind, and my face burned hearing the words he spoke. I covered my ears but it didn’t help. My heart raced, and my breath quickened. I shifted in my chair, crossing my legs tightly until my feet went numb.
“Yeah, baby, right there.” He winked at me.
I gasped. “I’ll be right back.” I rushed out of the room and headed straight for the bathroom.
Closing the door to the lounge located next to the stalls, I paced the small room as I fanned myself. Being a virgin, I had never come close to experiencing anything so dirty but sensual at the same time. And the worst part, it wasn’t even directed at me! The guy was blessed with sexual creativity. Why the heck didn’t he use some of that imagination and gear that toward his school work?
Sure, I had read those types of sex scenes in romance books, but it was entirely different hearing them firsthand. Well, second hand in this case. But nonetheless, I had just become hyper aware of tingles and sensations caused by an actual human being.
By a guy that was sitting next me.
And the saddest part, it wasn’t Collin.
I sighed as I collapsed onto the cushioned bench. The situation wasn’t good, and every warning light was flashing.
Reason number 3 — don’t lust over something that isn’t yours.

BT Rose in Bloom by Mia Michelle Giveaway & Review

Book: Rose in Bloom (Rose of Thornes Series)
Author: Mia Michelle
Genre: erotic romance
Secrets.  There are many different reasons for having secrets. Sometimes we choose to keep those secrets to protect people, while other times, they are kept out of deceit and shame. Regardless of their purpose, secrets have the power to hurt us, like nothing else. When we risk losing someone we love, we will stop at nothing, to prevent the truth from ever being known. But sometimes, secrets find their way out onto the open, revealing themselves even against our desperate attempts to keep them hidden. My secret had almost destroyed us, but through the miracle of three little words, “I forgive you,” Skylar had finally set me free from my years of torment.  Part of her died the night she lost her parents. No matter what I do, I can never get that part of her back again. Through the tragedy of that night, our lives are forever scarred, yet through our powerful love, I see her once again returning back to life, just like a perfect rose in bloom.  Now that she knows my secret, there is nothing that can ever tear us apart again…or so, I had thought.

My Review:

During this series I was rooting for Lucas but knew that Sebastian would be the winner of Skylar's heart. Sebastian and Skylar were destined to be together from that fateful night when Sebastian changed Skylar's life. Unfortunately Lucas was just another victim.

This book takes the time to wrap up all the characters and show us the strengthening of Skylar and Sebastian's relationship. Lucas almost loses it but reins himself in and puts Skylar first again. The ending seemed a little bit like a cop out in regards to Lucas but I still enjoyed this book.
Mia fell in love with the literary world at a very young age and began putting her active imagination to pen and paper at the age of six. Over the years, she has filled up numerous shelves with her notebooks and journals of her favorite stories. Twelve years ago, Mia began drafting The Rose of Thorne Series and through encouragement of a close friend, decided to finally take the leap of faith to bring her dream to life. She openly admits to having a hopeless infatuation with her Kindle and suffers from the one-click book addiction (No intervention required).
Mia is currently a stay at home mom who has mastered the fine art of making a PB&J sandwich in between laundry and shuttling kids to ballet and swimming. In her spare time (“What spare time?” She laughs), she enjoys photography, traveling, and having a girls night out with her pals. She enjoys the simple things in life: such as sleeping more than 3 hours per night and 10 minute showers without being interrupted by children yelling “mommy” from the other side of the bathroom door.
Mia Michelle resides in Tennessee with her soul mate and husband, along their two beautiful young children. She is currently working on drafting some exciting new projects due soon!
